A source close to Salman Khan said that the actor has joined hands with his fan club in Assam to provide relief assistance to flood-hit regions through his NGO, Being Human.
This is not the first occasion when Salman Khan has stepped forward for a social cause. While several celebrities, including Bhumi Pednekar and others, have shown support and raised awareness about the severe Assam floods through social media, Khan is among the first major Bollywood personalities to announce direct ground-level aid for those affected.
The relief operation has started with the distribution of ready-to-eat food packets containing basic supplies such as biscuits, jaggery, puffed rice and bread.
Along with food assistance, the team will also distribute essential items like medicines, drinking water, sanitary pads and mosquito repellents. Further plans include providing ration kits in the coming days and contributing towards rebuilding important infrastructure such as schools and hospitals in flood-affected areas.

Earlier, actor Bhumi Pednekar extended support to Assam’s flood victims and urged people to unite in helping those impacted by the disaster. In a video message, she highlighted the severity of the situation, stating that several villages were underwater, thousands of people had been displaced and many lives had been lost.
Pednekar appealed to the public to contribute towards relief efforts, comparing the response to the assistance provided during last year’s floods in Punjab. Singer Nilotpal Bora also praised the efforts of Pednekar and other celebrities while encouraging them to highlight the work of NGOs involved in providing aid on the ground.
Although the flood situation in Assam has improved slightly, the crisis continues in many districts. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), over five lakh people are still affected, with several flood-related deaths reported this year.
