Fans on X have reacted with excitement to the trailer of Mirzapur: The Movie, with several viewers praising its scale, action and bhaukaal. The big-screen adaptation brings key characters including Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit and Munna Bhaiya back into the franchise. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu Sharma headline the film, alongside Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan and several other familiar faces.
The initial reactions have largely centred on nostalgia, performances and the return of old rivals as the fight for the Gaddi (seat of power) resumes. While many viewers felt the trailer has retained the essence of Mirzapur, others highlighted the unexpected return of Munna Bhaiya. Some viewers also wondered whether the film could face significant censorship in India despite receiving an 'A' certificate.
The cast also includes Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Pramod Pathak, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi, Sonal S Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas, Shaji Chaudhary, Satendra Soni, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Sushant Singh in important roles.
One X user praised the trailer, saying the wait was finally over and that the scale, action and bhaukaal were “on another level”. The user also described seeing Munna Bhaiya, Kaleen Bhaiya and Guddu together again as pure nostalgia.
Another viewer singled out Ravi Kishan’s portrayal of Yadav Ji as their favourite part of the franchise, praising the actor’s performance and distinctive laugh while predicting that he could outshine the rest of the cast.
A third user felt that bringing back certain characters from the earlier seasons amounted to fan service and predicted that the film could face heavy censorship in India despite its 'A' rating.
Another viewer simply described the film as a potential “BLOCKBUSTER”, praising the makers for designing a trailer while retaining the essence of the franchise.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur: The Movie is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serve as co-producers.
The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 4, 2026, in Hindi and Telugu.
