Salman Khan had plenty to celebrate this Raksha Bandhan, and the colourful rakhis wrapped around his wrist offered a glimpse of the festive mood. The actor joined his sisters and extended family at sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri’s Mumbai residence for the celebrations and later showed the paparazzi the rakhis tied by his sisters.
Dressed casually in a maroon T-shirt, flared blue jeans and a cowboy-style hat, Salman kept things relaxed as he greeted photographers before leaving the house. Videos captured him proudly displaying the multiple rakhis on his wrist.
The actor also had a tilak on his forehead as he stepped out after the family gathering. When photographers asked him to show his rakhis, Salman happily raised his wrist for the cameras before getting into his car.
In another video, Salman was seen warmly hugging veteran actor Helen as she arrived at Alvira’s residence for the festivities. Sohail Khan’s son, Nirvaan Khan, was also spotted at the gathering.
The Khan family has traditionally celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Alvira’s home, bringing siblings and members of their extended family together. Alvira, the daughter of veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and Salma Khan, is married to actor-producer Atul Agnihotri. She works as a fashion designer and film producer and has been associated with several Bollywood projects.
Salman’s other sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, was also present for the family celebrations. Arpita was adopted by Salim Khan and raised alongside his first wife Salma and second wife Helen. She is married to actor Aayush Sharma.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR SALMAN KHAN?
On the professional front, Salman has several projects lined up. He will star in Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, the Apoorva Lakhia-directed war drama earlier titled Battle of Galwan. The film, which also features Chitrangda Singh, draws inspiration from the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
The film has undergone several changes, including its title and release plans. A poster released in July indicated that Maatrubhumi is still planned for a 2026 release, although the makers have not announced a new theatrical date. Earlier reports had suggested a delay, while the filmmakers clarified that the film had not been submitted for certification when speculation about a CBFC hurdle emerged.
Salman is also set to headline filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally’s next project, tentatively titled SVC 63, alongside Nayanthara. The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theatres during Eid 2027.
