Ahead of the arrival of their second child, actor Deepika Padukone made a rare public appearance on Saturday night as she was spotted at Mumbai airport with her baby bump visible. Her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, accompanied her to the airport but stayed inside their black car.
The appearance came as the couple continued to share occasional glimpses of their growing family. Deepika recently posted a light-hearted pregnancy-related Instagram Story, while Ranveer revealed at a public event that he was soon going to become a father of two. Meanwhile, the shooting schedule for Ranveer’s upcoming film Pralay was reportedly being moved to Mumbai so he could remain close to Deepika.
For the airport outing, Deepika opted for a casual look, wearing an oversized light blue striped shirt with loose-fitting blue jeans and carrying a tan shoulder bag. She completed the outfit with dark sunglasses and her hair tied in a neat bun, while her green nails added a pop of colour to the otherwise understated appearance.
As reported earlier by India Today, the schedule of Pralay was altered because Ranveer wanted to stay close to Deepika as the couple prepares to welcome their second child. A source familiar with the development said that Ranveer did not want to be away from Deepika during this period, prompting the production team to make arrangements to shift the shoot to Mumbai.
The report also stated that the makers had been unable to obtain permissions to film at some locations in Australia. With both circumstances affecting the production, the team and Ranveer decided to relocate the schedule to Mumbai.

Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their first child, daughter Dua, in September 2024. Since then, the couple has offered only occasional glimpses of their family life and has largely kept their daughter away from public attention.
Earlier this month, Deepika shared a humorous reel on her Instagram Stories about managing the responsibilities of looking after one child while being pregnant with another. The video showed a pregnant woman lifting and carrying a toddler despite the usual recommendation against lifting heavy objects during pregnancy. It carried the message, “Don't lift anything over 20 pounds while pregnant. Me this entire pregnancy.” Deepika added a Spider-Man sticker to the post.
The couple’s second pregnancy was also mentioned recently when Ranveer was attending an event for his health brand. A video that went viral showed a female fan praising his coffee-making abilities and appearing to flirt with him. Ranveer responded by saying, “Itna flirt kar rahi hai, mein 2 bache ka baap banne wala hoon yaar,” meaning that he was about to become a father of two.
After the video circulated online, a fan also noticed that Ranveer appeared to cross his fingers while talking about his children.
Earlier this year, Deepika and Ranveer announced that they were expecting their second child through a joint Instagram post. The image showed their daughter Dua holding a positive pregnancy test, while the caption consisted of evil eye emojis. The announcement was met with congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers.
Deepika and Ranveer first met while shooting Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. They subsequently appeared together in Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, 83 and Singham Again.
After dating for almost six years, the pair married in an intimate ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, in November 2018. They announced the birth of their daughter on September 8, 2024, through a joint Instagram post. The couple revealed her name nearly two months later, in November 2024.
Upcoming projects
On the professional front, Deepika will next be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s King. She is also set to work with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s AA22xA6. Ranveer was most recently seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and is currently preparing for Pralay, described as a post-apocalyptic thriller.
Ranveer was also recently involved in the controversy surrounding Don 3 following reports of his exit from the Farhan Akhtar-directed project, which sparked debate within the film industry and a public dispute with the makers.
