Rashmika Mandanna is preparing to return to work after taking a short break to recover from a hip injury she suffered while filming her upcoming project Mysaa. Almost a month after discussing the injury publicly, the 30-year-old actor has now revealed that she will soon resume her professional commitments.
During her recovery, Rashmika spent most of her time at home. She shared glimpses of herself performing puja, spending time with her dog, working on picture puzzles and relaxing in her garden.
In a carousel of photos and videos, the Cocktail 2 actor said she was excited to return to work but would miss the peaceful time she had spent with her loved ones.
“I am getting back to work soon, and I am definitely going to miss all of this!” she wrote.
Rashmika’s injury was reported in July while she was shooting for Mysaa. On August 3, she confirmed the setback, explaining that one of the four tendons connecting her right hip to her leg had detached and needed time to heal.
The injury happened while filming a dance sequence for Mysaa, which she described as the “most aggressive film” she had worked on. She explained that the affected tendon needed to reattach before she could properly lift her leg again.
The actor jokingly suggested that the injury may have been a sign from God telling her to slow down. She referred to her recovery period as a “forced holiday” and said she spent the time resting, solving puzzles and enjoying life at home.
Not being able to exercise was among the more difficult aspects of her recovery, as Rashmika regularly works out. She also joked about trying to avoid gaining weight while being unable to run or train.
Before the injury, Rashmika had been working on several projects. She will next appear in Mysaa, an emotional action thriller set against the backdrop of the Gond community.
She is also set to star alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Ranabaali, a Telugu period drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan and set during the British era. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11.
