The trailer of Vishwanath and Sons, featuring Suriya in the lead, offers a glimpse into director Venky Atluri's upcoming family drama, which follows the story of a man in his 40s who continues pursuing his lifelong dreams despite the challenges that come with age.
The film revolves around Sanjay Vishwanath, played by Suriya, an international pistol shooter striving to achieve his career ambitions well into his 40s. Mamitha Baiju stars alongside him, while Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon play key supporting roles.
The film's technical team includes music composer GV Prakash Kumar and cinematographer Nimish Ravi. Speaking at the audio launch in Coimbatore, the makers highlighted that the film explores the balance between family relationships and personal aspirations.
At the event, Suriya also shared his thoughts on relationships, speaking about love, marriage and the importance of mutual respect. He said that while people inevitably change over time, love and respect between partners should remain constant.
"I think love should last forever. Marriage shouldn't mark the end of romance. You should continue loving your partner every day, even after spending 20 years together. Respect for your partner should always remain," Suriya said.
Reflecting on how people evolve with age, he added that priorities naturally shift as individuals mature.
"We all change—men change and women change. The maturity you have at 20 is different from what you have at 25 or 30. Our goals and ambitions also change. But the love you have for your partner should never change. That's the only advice I would give about love," the 51-year-old actor said.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and presented by Srikara Studios, Vishwanath and Sons is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 14, 2026. The makers promise an emotional family entertainer for audiences during the Independence Day weekend.
The film, however, will face competition at the box office as it releases alongside Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, both of which are also set to hit theatres on August 14.
