Temple is the tiniest wearable, according to Deepinder Goyal, and it will launch by the end of 2026

Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal’s Temple is moving closer to becoming a commercially available product rather than remaining an experimental wearable. Goyal has revealed that the newest version of Temple is now less than half the size of the earlier device he showcased and said pre-orders for a limited launch edition will open soon.

According to Goyal, Temple is now the smallest wearable in the market by volume while also being the “most powerful” version of the device so far. The company intends to begin shipping it before the end of 2026.

For people who have been tracking Temple’s development, this represents a significant milestone. The wearable first attracted attention earlier this year when Goyal appeared on Raj Shamani’s Figuring Out podcast wearing what appeared to be a small metallic device attached to the side of his forehead. Temple has since also been seen on athletes, including badminton player PV Sindhu.

What is Temple and what does it do?

Unlike conventional smartwatches and fitness bands that primarily monitor metrics such as heart rate, steps and movement, Temple is designed to provide a deeper look at activity related to the brain.

The wearable is built to monitor cerebral blood flow in real time, along with other signals associated with brain activity. Its measurements include indicators linked to oxygenation, cognitive load and entropy, potentially giving users insights into how their brain and body respond under different conditions.

This could make Temple particularly relevant for athletes. Rather than simply measuring the intensity of a workout, the device could potentially offer additional information about fatigue, recovery, concentration and sleep by analysing signals associated with brain function.

The concept differs significantly from traditional fitness trackers. Temple is essentially attempting to bring certain measurements typically studied in controlled research environments into a compact wearable that can be used during everyday activities.

Goyal has not yet announced the final retail price of Temple. However, India Today had previously reported that the device could be priced at around Rs 72,000.

The company is now preparing to launch pre-orders for a limited-edition version, with deliveries expected to begin before the end of 2026. People interested in the device can sign up to Temple’s mailing list through its website for further updates.
