A video showing a man apparently stopping a passenger train at a railway crossing in Bihar has gone viral on social media, prompting railway authorities to take note of the incident.
The video shows the man standing near a railway crossing with his family as a train approaches. He makes a phone call and then appears to signal with his hand for the train to stop. Shortly afterwards, the train comes to a halt.
The person recording the video can be heard reacting in surprise, saying, “Train ruk gayi. Ab Railway Ministry mein jaayegi yeh video. Saamne prashasan ki gaadi bhi khadi hai” (The train has stopped. Now this video will reach the Railway Ministry. There is also an administration vehicle parked right in front).
However, India Today could not independently verify whether the vehicle visible at the location belonged to the man or whether he had any connection with the government or railway authorities.
The video was shared by the X account @SitamarhiJila, which claimed that the man had reached the railway crossing to help his family board the train. According to the account, the man was speaking on the phone in a way that suggested he could ask the train to stop. The train eventually halted, allowing his family to board before it reached the station.

The clip quickly gained traction online, prompting Railway Seva to respond. “Related officials are being informed,” the account said while tagging the official handle of the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway.
With the matter now brought to the attention of railway officials, further details are expected to emerge once authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the train’s sudden stop.
