Yuzvendra Chahal has joined the viral ‘6-7’ celebration trend, recreating Delhi cricketer Medhavi Bidhuri’s now-famous gesture during Northamptonshire’s County Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford.
Chahal performed the celebration after dismissing Joe Moores, coming around the wicket and beating the batter before crashing into the stumps. His spell was also crucial to Northamptonshire’s huge 316-run victory, as he finished with figures of 3/39 from 18.4 overs. The win was Northamptonshire’s first at Old Trafford since 1999.
The celebration originally gained attention through Bidhuri during the 2026 Women’s Delhi Premier League. The Central Delhi Queens leg-spinner first performed the gesture after dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh on August 20.
The connection became even more notable because Bidhuri wears jersey number 67. She had wanted No. 12, but after finding it unavailable, her younger sister suggested 67 and encouraged her to incorporate the number into her celebration.
Bidhuri struck again on August 23, performing the gesture after dismissing East Delhi Riders batter Vanshika Lila.
Chahal’s recreation has now taken the celebration beyond Delhi’s domestic cricket circuit and onto one of England’s major cricket grounds, showing how quickly the ‘6-7’ trend has spread through the sport.
