Professor Doolla is then seen approaching Wakode after noticing that he was using the phone. The professor takes the question paper and answer sheet from him and asks him to come outside the examination hall.
Towards the end of the footage, Wakode can be seen leaving the examination room accompanied by the professor.
Other students are also visible in the video, seated at their respective places and continuing with their examinations as they witnessed the interaction between Wakode and Professor Doolla.
So far, no one who was present inside the examination hall has publicly shared their account of the incident. None of the students who witnessed the events have spoken to the media or provided a public statement about what happened.
The footage has emerged as the case is being investigated by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch following an FIR filed by Wakode's parents against IIT Bombay Director and Professor Doolla.
The Crime Branch investigation remains underway, with several important aspects of the case yet to be determined. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the examination incident and the events that followed.
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE EXAMINATION INCIDENT
The events following the examination have since become part of a broader dispute.
Wakode's death led to protests at IIT Bombay, with students demanding an independent investigation into the circumstances preceding his death. They have also called for changes to the institute's disciplinary mechanisms and student-welfare policies.
Wakode's parents have additionally filed a police complaint under provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, alleging that their son faced discrimination.
These allegations are still being investigated, and the CCTV footage alone does not establish what happened after Wakode was taken out of the examination hall.
The newly accessed video nevertheless offers a visual record of the events inside the examination centre immediately before Wakode was escorted outside. It adds another piece of evidence to a case that has raised concerns and questions surrounding examination procedures, disciplinary measures and student welfare at IIT Bombay.
