Mirzapur The Movie continues to hold strong at the box office, with the film maintaining its momentum on its second Sunday. Audiences are still heading to theatres to watch the big-screen return of Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit and Munna Tripathi. The major question now is whether the film can turn its strong opening into a worldwide collection of Rs 300 crore.
According to Sacnilk, the film remained steady on its second Sunday and took its worldwide total to Rs 266.04 crore after 10 days.
On Day 10, the film collected Rs 13.25 crore nett from 7,225 shows across India. Its India gross reached Rs 220.04 crore, while the overall India nett collection stood at Rs 184.70 crore. Sunday’s earnings were just 1.9 per cent below Saturday’s Rs 13.50 crore, indicating that the film continues to maintain a strong hold during its second weekend.
The film also earned Rs 4 crore from international markets on Day 10, taking its overseas gross to Rs 46 crore. With the India gross of Rs 220.04 crore added, the film’s worldwide collection has reached Rs 266.04 crore.
The number of shows also increased over the weekend. Mirzapur: The Movie was screened across 6,763 shows on Friday, 7,183 on Saturday and 7,225 on Sunday. Overall occupancy improved from 29 per cent on Friday to 37 per cent on Saturday and 38 per cent on Sunday.
The Hindi 2D version delivered particularly strong numbers on Sunday, registering 45.53 per cent overall occupancy. Afternoon and evening screenings recorded the highest turnout, with occupancies of 53 per cent and 57.15 per cent respectively.
The film brings the popular Mirzapur franchise to theatres and is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, with Puneet Krishna serving as the writer. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the story takes place between Episodes 6 and 7 of the first season of the original series.
Several familiar actors have returned for the movie, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, Abhishek Banerjee, Sonal Chauhan, Mohit Malik and Sushant Singh are also part of the cast.
