The makers of The Vvaan have unveiled Chhathi Maiya, a new song from the upcoming Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer, and the track has received an enthusiastic response on social media for bringing Chhath Puja to mainstream Hindi cinema. Several viewers said they were emotional seeing the festival portrayed in a major Bollywood film, while others praised Tamannaah’s performance and Vishal Mishra’s vocals.
The song revolves around devotion and faith, connecting the significance of Chhath Puja with the power of the Van Devi, a central element of the film’s folklore-based fantasy adventure. With the track, the makers have added a strong devotional dimension to the story while highlighting both the festival and the faith that forms an important part of the narrative.
Chhathi Maiya has been sung and composed by Vishal Mishra, with lyrics penned by Kaushal Kishore and choreography by Chinni Prakash. The 3-minute-30-second track features Sidharth questioning Tamannaah’s belief as she remains determined to take part in Chhath Puja.
The video then shows Tamannaah observing the Chhath rituals alongside other women. It captures the emotional and spiritual significance of the festival through a devotional song dedicated to the goddess worshipped during Chhath. Towards the end, Tamannaah is involved in an accident, following which the couple witnesses what appears to be a miracle that renews their faith.

The song received a warm response from viewers online. One user described seeing Chhath Puja on the big screen in The Vvaan as an experience that gave them “pure goosebumps.”
Another viewer highlighted the inclusion of Chhath Puja in a mainstream pan-India film, calling it a first.
A third user praised the song and Vishal Mishra’s vocals, saying they had expected him to sing the track. The user also described it as possibly the first time Bollywood has brought the sacred rituals of Chhath Puja to a mainstream audience beyond the UP-Bihar-Jharkhand region, while hoping the film accurately portrays the traditional rituals.
Another viewer was impressed by Tamannaah Bhatia’s appearance in Chhathi Maiya, but said her appeal went beyond her saree, jewellery and traditional styling. Talking about the song, Tamannaah said she felt it was surreal to be part of The Vvaan and portray the pride of Bihar and Patna by celebrating Chhath on the big screen of Indian cinema through Chhathi Maiya. She described the song as a humble effort to showcase Bihari pride to audiences across India and expressed hope that viewers would experience the same spiritual and devotional emotions that the team felt while creating it.
Singer and composer Vishal Mishra called it an honour and blessing to bring the sacred tradition and faith associated with Chhath, which is deeply rooted in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, to Hindi cinema. He said he hoped the beauty and essence of the culture would reach audiences around the world and receive the appreciation and respect it deserves. He described the song as a small offering from himself, lyricist Kaushal Kishore and the entire The Vvaan team to their people, concluding with “Chhathi Maiya is yours now. Jai Chhathi Maiya.”
