A sexual harassment case has been filed against BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), former Telangana minister T Harish Rao and two other party leaders after a woman police constable accused them of inappropriate behaviour during a confrontation at the Legislative Assembly earlier this week.
The other two BRS leaders named in the case are Sudheer Reddy and Naveen Reddy.
According to the constable’s complaint, the alleged incident occurred on Monday at Gate No. 3 of the Assembly during a clash between BRS legislators and police on the first day of the Monsoon Session.
The woman constable alleged that the BRS leaders took off their T-shirts and stood semi-naked in front of women police personnel, describing the behaviour as harassment and an insult.
The confrontation began after police stopped BRS MLAs and MLCs from entering the Assembly premises while they were wearing black T-shirts and carrying placards bearing slogans directed at the ruling Congress government.
The BRS legislators were protesting what they claimed was the Congress government's failure to deliver on its election promises despite completing nearly 1,000 days in office.
The black T-shirts worn by the legislators carried the message, “Congress has failed to implement its promises.”
The confrontation later led to allegations from both sides.
The BRS alleged that police personnel acted high-handedly and misbehaved with its women legislators during the incident, and demanded action against the officers involved.
