An Indian woman in Canada reportedly got into a confrontation with her tenant after objecting to him using a barbecue in the garden with a friend on her property. Following the viral spread of a video showing their argument, the tenant posted several more clips, alleging that the incident was part of a broader pattern of harassment by his landlady.
The man, who runs the Instagram account Tiwana Farm Survivor, shared footage of multiple encounters with the woman, claiming the videos showed repeated instances of harassment and interference at the property.
The original viral clip appeared to show the dispute beginning after the Indian landlady objected to the tenant using a barbecue at the property.
In the video, the woman pointed at brown marks on a wall and said, "I have to protect my property from damage." The man, visibly angry, asked her to leave and said, "I'm 50 years old. If I want to have friends here and make a dinner, I will. You're the only one disrupting the peace."
The landlady then pointed towards the man's friend, who was filming the encounter, and said, "You don't have the right to tell me what to do. He's my enemy." The exchange soon escalated into a heated argument.
In another video from the same day, the woman was seen taking patties off a grill at the property.
"Why are you trying to intimidate us? We are just trying to cook dinner," the man said. The woman then picked up a piece of wood from the ground and used it to push the patties off the grill, saying, "You cannot do this on my property. I'm calling the police right away."
After the clips gained widespread attention, the tenant began uploading additional videos in which he alleged that the Indian landlady had assaulted him.
One video appeared to show the woman entering his home and throwing rocks in his direction before confronting him physically. The man repeatedly asked her to stop and appeared to keep his distance.
"Please leave, get out of my unit," he was heard saying. As the confrontation continued, the woman appeared to wrestle with him before picking up a container from a table and hitting his friend. She asked, "What is he doing here? Why are you here?"
Other footage posted by the tenant showed what he claimed were additional instances of the woman entering the property without informing him. In one video, he alleged that she had entered the property unlawfully and changed the locks.
In the caption of one of his posts, the man also claimed that his rent had already been paid through August 15.
He later uploaded another video showing what appeared to be the entrance to his rental unit without a door. According to him, the door had been completely removed, leaving him unable to properly secure his home and belongings.
The dispute also involved other people who reportedly arrived at the property. In one video filmed by the tenant, several men were seen entering the premises while he questioned why they were there. He argued that they could not enter a tenant's home without permission and repeatedly said, "Why are you in my unit? This is illegal. Get out of my unit right away."
The latest video showing the missing door drew further attention to the dispute. The tenant claimed he was left without a proper way to secure his unit and possessions, adding to his allegations against the landlady.
"My unit has been broken into for the third time, the door was removed right off. Just recording this for the police for now," he said.
In a subsequent update, the tenant claimed that the landlady had finally been arrested. He posted footage showing police arriving at her door and telling her, "You are under arrest, please don't argue."
The woman appeared confused and responded, "It's going to be stressful. No, I have to call my daughter. Can I call my daughter?"
Police officers were then seen placing handcuffs on her before escorting her to a police vehicle.
The videos posted by the tenant present his version of the dispute, but they do not independently establish the complete circumstances surrounding the landlord-tenant conflict or verify all the allegations made against the woman.
