A family dispute over a land deal turned violent in Pune district after two brothers allegedly assaulted their elderly parents with wooden sticks on a village road.
Sixty-five-year-old Tukaram Kisan Raut and his wife, Anjana, were out for a walk on the evening of August 30 when their sons, Sanjay and Rajendra Raut, allegedly confronted them. A video of the incident shows the two accused arriving in a car and stopping their parents.

In his complaint filed with the police, Tukaram alleged that the confrontation escalated when his sons attacked him and Anjana with wooden sticks. He suffered injuries to multiple parts of his body, including his back, face, thighs and left shoulder. His wife sustained injuries to her wrist and waist.
Tukaram also told police that the brothers threatened them and insisted that the land deal be reversed.
People in the area noticed the incident and alerted the police. The injured couple was subsequently taken to the Indapur sub-district hospital for treatment.
