Ramayana: The new motion poster for the epic features Ranbir and Sai Pallavi's uncommon stillness

Ramayana: Part 1 has unveiled a notable new addition to its promotional campaign. On Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers released the film’s first motion poster, giving viewers a calm yet powerful glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi’s Sita sharing an intimate moment beside a river. While the trailer presented the duo as the epic’s central characters, the latest poster shifts focus from grandeur and spectacle to the gentle relationship between Ram and Siya.

The motion poster, released across YouTube, Instagram and X, begins with a lush forest surrounding a clear, flowing river. Ram and Sita sit together on a moss-covered rock near the water. Wearing traditional outfits, Ram delicately places a pink flower in Sita’s hair as she smiles.

The title Ramayana appears in elaborate golden lettering alongside the tagline, ‘Our Truth. Our History.’ The poster also confirms that Ramayana: Part 1 will have a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the epic is being developed as a two-part movie. The first instalment is scheduled to arrive on November 6, 2026, while the second part is expected to release in October 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi portrays Sita. Ravi Dubey features as Lakshmana, and Arun Govil, who famously played Ram in the 1990s television series, will portray King Dasharatha. Yash stars as Ravan, Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, and Rakul Preet Singh takes on the role of Surpanakha.

The film’s enormous scale has been a major talking point well ahead of its release. Ramayana is reportedly being produced with a budget of around Rs 4,000 crore, while Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are responsible for the music. Visual effects are being handled by teams including DNEG and Prime Focus.

The previously released trailer had already offered audiences a glimpse into the film’s expansive world and large ensemble cast. The new motion poster, however, adopts a more intimate approach. Rather than showcasing battles or large-scale action, it focuses on a simple gesture shared by Ram and Sita, bringing the emotional core of the epic into focus.

With the motion poster now released, the promotional campaign for Ramayana: Part 1 is steadily gaining momentum.
