Actors Swara Bhasker, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Karan Patel and political commentator Shehzad Poonawalla have been confirmed as the first four contestants of Rise & Fall Season 2, which will be hosted by former cricketer Virender Sehwag. The latest promo reveals them as the first names from the 15-member cast and introduces the opening battle in the reality show's power-driven format.
The promo features the four contestants taking playful jabs at one another while showcasing their individual personalities. The show's core concept, centred on changing power dynamics and strategy, returns with participants moving between the roles of Rulers and Workers, with those positions influencing how the competition develops.
Swara is introduced as an outspoken contestant, while Poonawalla moves from the world of primetime television debates into a different kind of competition. Priyanka, who already has experience with reality shows, returns to a format where strategy and timing will play an important role. Television actor Karan Patel also joins the show, stepping into an unscripted battle for power.
What the contestants said
Priyanka shared her excitement about returning to reality television, saying, “I’ve experienced reality television in different forms, but Rise & Fall Season 2 brings a whole new dimension to the game. The idea of going from being a Ruler to a Worker and having your position shaped by the choices you make, makes this experience especially exciting for me."
She said her previous reality television experiences had taught her to rely on her instincts and remain authentic. However, she pointed out that the power dynamics of Rise & Fall Season 2 would introduce a new challenge, requiring her to adjust to whichever position she occupies and make the most of every opportunity.
Swara Bhasker said, “I’ve always been someone who wears her opinions on her sleeve, so entering a game like Rise & Fall Season 2 is going to be quite an experience. The show brings together personalities with very different perspectives, and when power and strategy come into play, I’m sure those differences will make for some fascinating dynamics. I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.”
Karan Patel also expressed his excitement about joining the show, saying, “People have seen me play different characters and tell stories through television all these years, but Rise & Fall Season 2 gives me the chance to enter a completely different arena as myself."
He said the show's competitive format was the aspect he found most exciting. According to the actor, the game would demand bold decisions, commitment to those choices and the ability to adjust as relationships and dynamics evolved, challenges he was prepared to embrace.
Shehzad Poonawalla said the concept of “rise and fall” felt closely connected to his own personal journey, describing it as a reflection of one chapter ending while another begins with fresh challenges and possibilities. He called Rise & Fall Season 2 an intriguing new innings and said he enjoys platforms where people can put forward strong opinions. He also pointed out that the show would bring together contestants with different viewpoints, while stating that he would not tolerate anyone disrespecting Bharat or its history.
Poonawalla added that watching complete strangers navigate the competition, sometimes joining forces and at other times ending up on opposing sides, would be interesting. In a lighter remark, he joked that he was pleased he would not have to worry about paying rent for the next six weeks.
