Towhid Hridoy delivered one of the most remarkable batting displays in Bangladesh cricket history on Wednesday, smashing an unbeaten 350 for Bangladesh A against South Africa A in the second unofficial Test in Potchefstroom.
The Bangladesh A captain faced 481 deliveries and struck 27 fours and 10 sixes as he guided his team to a record 676 for eight declared. Batting at No.4, Hridoy played a central role in Bangladesh A's recovery after they were reduced to 86 for three while responding to South Africa A's first-innings score of 512.
Hridoy first shared a 151-run stand with Jaker Ali, who was dismissed for 94, six runs short of a century. He then added another 185 with Mohammad Saifuddin, who contributed 87. His marathon innings lasted more than 191 overs and saw him rewrite multiple first-class records.
South Africa A finished on 18 without loss from 12 overs before the match was drawn. Bangladesh A lost the two-match unofficial Test series 1-0, but the final game belonged to Hridoy, whose extraordinary triple century established a new first-class batting record for a Bangladesh player.

Who is Towhidy Hridoy?
Born in Bogra on December 4, 2000, Towhid Hridoy has emerged as one of Bangladesh's brightest middle-order batting prospects. The right-handed batter can also bowl off-spin and rose through the country's youth system before being part of Bangladesh's historic Under-19 World Cup-winning team in 2020.
Hridoy made his first-class debut for Rajshahi Division in 2017 and steadily established himself through domestic cricket and franchise competitions. His performances earned him an international call-up in 2023. He made his T20I debut against England on March 9 that year before making his ODI debut against Ireland later in the month.
He has since become a regular member of Bangladesh's limited-overs sides and has played franchise cricket for teams including Sylhet Strikers, Fortune Barishal, Comilla Victorians, Jaffna Kings and Rangpur Riders. In June 2026, he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe, adding another significant milestone to his career.
At 25, Hridoy's unbeaten 350 has become the standout innings of his career. His marathon effort in Potchefstroom highlighted a different dimension of his batting, combining remarkable patience, concentration and composure with his natural attacking game.
For Bangladesh cricket, the focus now shifts from who Towhid Hridoy is to just how much further this extraordinary talent can go.
