A 73-year-old man was arrested after the car he was driving collided with a motorcycle and dragged it several metres in Delhi’s RK Puram area, police said.
The incident occurred at around 10:22 pm on Thursday. A video of the incident has since circulated widely on social media, showing the car pulling the motorcycle along the road for several metres before bystanders managed to stop it.
According to Delhi Police, the investigation found that Tanish Tokas was seated on a parked vehicle along the roadside when a blue Honda Amaze struck a motorcycle. The car was being driven by 73-year-old Venu Gopal, a resident of Vasant Kunj.
The collision caused Tokas to fall from the motorcycle, following which the Honda Amaze dragged the two-wheeler for a few metres.
Police said Tokas escaped without suffering any serious injuries.
Delhi Police said Venu Gopal was arrested and the vehicle involved in the incident was seized. An FIR was also registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The police added that the accused driver underwent an examination, which found no traces of alcohol.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
