Two ministers contributed 99% of Vijay's TVK's Rs 13.3 crore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s TVK party has reported receiving Rs 13.3 crore in voluntary contributions from four donors during the 2025–26 financial year, according to disclosures submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI). Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and RV Ranjithkumar accounted for 99 per cent of the total amount.

The figures show that Sports and Public Works Minister Arjuna donated Rs 8.2 crore, while Ranjithkumar contributed Rs 5 crore.

Arjuna was TVK’s largest donor, providing more than 60 per cent of the party’s total contributions for the financial year.

The disclosures also recorded two other donations of Rs 5 lakh each. Snow Sho, based in Lions Town, Thoothukudi, made its contribution through a demand draft. Snow Exports & Imports, registered at the same address, donated another Rs 5 lakh through a demand draft.

Meanwhile, ECI data showed that the AIADMK received voluntary contributions of approximately Rs 161.35 crore during FY 2025–26.

Tiger Associates was the party’s largest contributor, donating Rs 135 crore.

The DMK reported receiving around Rs 191.19 crore in contributions, with Tiger Associates also emerging as its biggest donor, contributing Rs 125 crore.

The Kolkata-based lottery company Tiger Associates is linked to lottery magnate Santiago Martin through a common business associate. Its designated partner, Subbayan Nagarajan, has a longstanding association with Martin, and corporate records identify both as partners in another firm.

Martin’s company, Future Gaming and Hotel Services, was the largest purchaser of electoral bonds before the Supreme Court scrapped the scheme in February 2024.

Disclosures released after the scheme was abolished showed that Future Gaming had donated Rs 509 crore to the DMK through electoral bonds.
