Rajasthan: World's tallest statue of Mahadev to be inaugurated

The tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world, called "Viswas Swaroopam," unveiled on Saturday in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district.

Morari Bapu, a spiritual guide and religious preacher from Gujarat, would inaugurate the 369-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva in Nathdwara town of the district in front of other dignitaries like Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.

Following the statue's unveiling, nine days of religious, spiritual, and cultural events will take place in the state, from October 29 to November 6, according to Madan Paliwal, chairman of the Miraj group and trustee of the Sansthan.

According to PTI, "This magnificent Lord Shiva monument built in the city of Shreenathji would add a new dimension to religious tourism."

Throughout the nine days, Morari Bapu will also recite the Ram Katha.

About the tallest statue in the world:

The statue was built by Tat Padam Sansthan and is located 45 kilometres from Udaipur.

The statue, which is designed in a meditative position, is claimed to be seen from a distance of 20 kilometres. It is situated on a hill overlooking a space of 51 bighas.

The statue has been specially lit so that it can be seen clearly at night, according to Jaiprakash Mali, a spokesperson for the programme.

The tallest Shiva statue in the world, "Viswas Swaroopam," contains lifts, steps, and a hall for worshippers. Mali stated, "There are four elevators and three staircases to get inside."

The statue's construction lasted ten years. In August 2012, Ashok Gehlot, who was the CM at the time, and Morari Bapu lay the project's cornerstone.

2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete, 3,000 tonnes of steel, iron, and sand were utilised in its construction.

The copper-colored statue has a zinc alloy coating to shield it from the rain and sun.

According to Mali, the statue was built to survive 250 years and can withstand winds of up to 250 kmph. "This statue's design has undergone wind tunnel testing in Australia," he continued.
