3,000 Temples Will Be Built In Andhra Pradesh To "Protect Hindu Religion"

The government claims that the building of shrines has been undertaken in a significant manner in the state, with the aim of ensuring that every district in Andhra Pradesh has a temple.

According to Deputy CM Kottu Satyanarayana, this program was announced to defend and promote the Hindu faith on the orders of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In a release on Tuesday, Mr. Satyanaraya, who is also the Endowments Minister, stated that the construction of Hindu temples in the neighborhoods of weaker sections had been started in an effort to protect and spread the Hindu faith on a large scale.

The Sri Vani Trust of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has allotted 10 lakhs for each temple to be built.

In addition to the 1,330 temples that have begun construction, 1,465 more have been added to this list. Likewise, 200 more will be constructed in response to a few lawmakers' requests.

He stated other nonprofit organizations would help with the construction of the other temples.

The minister claims that the Endowments Department is in charge of building 978 temples and that an associate engineer has been assigned to work on each of the 25 temples.

238 crore of the 270 crore CGF money allocated to restore some temples and to carry out ceremonies in temples have been made available.

Similar to the previous example, 15 crores of the 28 crores set aside in this fiscal year for the financing of rites (doopa deepa naiveydyam) at the rate of 5,000 per temple had been used up.

Only 1,561 temples were enrolled in the Doopa Deepa Scheme by 2019, but that number has since grown to 5,000, Mr. Satyanarayana said.
