New 300-acre facility in Karnataka will produce Apple phones, create 1 lakh jobs



According to Federal Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Apple phones would be produced at a new 300-acre factory in Karnataka, producing about one lakh employment.

According to Chandrasekhar's tweet, Apple phones will be produced in a new 300-acre facility in Karnataka.

Bommai remarked: "Apple phones will soon be produced in the state. Along with around 100,000 new jobs, Karnataka will gain a tonne of new chances ".


A delegation from the Apple Inc. partner Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), led by its chairman Young Liu, arrived in Bengaluru on Friday and met with the state's information technology minister, C N Ashwath Narayan, in advance.

According to a statement from the Minister's office, the delegation was led to evaluate the potential site for establishing an Apple phone manufacturing facility in the State.

The delegation had already been greeted by the Minister upon their arrival at Bangalore International Airport.

According to Liu, who was quoted in the announcement, Bengaluru is the chosen location for international businesses and has been a trailblazer in luring investment.
