Bangalore police have detained Kannada actor Chetan Kumar, also known as Chetan Ahimsa after his anti-Hindutva tweet gained widespread attention. In the complaint against him, it was claimed that his tweet, which claims that "Hindutva is constructed on lies," offended Hindus.
He was arrested in Bengaluru by the Sheshadripuram police. A district court has produced the actor, who is also a Dalit and tribal activist.
He is accused of promoting animosity between classes and disrespecting a religion or religious beliefs. On March 20, Mr. Kumar asserted that Hindutva is founded on lies in a tweet.
Savarkar: Indian 'nation' began when Rama defeated Ravana & returned to Ayodhya —> a lie
1992: Babri Masjid is 'birthplace of Rama' —> a lie
2023: Urigowda-Nanjegowda are 'killers' of Tipu—> a lie," he said in the tweet.

The actor claimed that the best way to oppose Hindutva is with the truth.
Pro-Hindu organizations complained about him and an FIR was issued at the Sheshadripuram police station hours after he posted the tweet.
The actor has had prior encounters with the law. He was detained in February 2022 for a derogatory tweet directed against Justice Krishna Dixit of the Karnataka High Court, who was considering the hijab matter at the time.
