Amit Shah, a Muslim group talks of the Ram Navami riots & the reservation issue

On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with a group of 17 Muslims. Representatives from several Muslim organizations discussed recent racial unrest that occurred during Ram Navami celebrations in various states at the conference.

Additionally, they talked about Karnataka's impending election and the removal of Muslim reservations.

Amit Shah received the team as the Union Home Minister, not as a BJP politician, according to Maulana Niyaz Ahmad Farooqi, who was speaking to India Today.

"Amit Shah was aware of all our complaints. We discussed the violence surrounding Ram Navami, the rise of Islamophobia, and even the elimination of the Muslim reservation in Karnataka, according to Farooqi.

Speaking about the controversy surrounding Muslim reservations in Karnataka, Amit Shah stated that there is a misunderstanding around the matter because Pasmanda Muslims will continue to receive reservations in the state and that the Law Ministry will soon offer clarification on the matter.

According to a spokesman of Jamait Ulama-i-Hind who attended the meeting, the location of the meeting was the home of the home minister in New Delhi.

Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, president of the Jamait Ulama-i-Hind, Kamal Farooqi, a member of the India Muslim Personal Board, and Maulana Niyaz Ahmad Farooqi, a member of the Jamait Ulama-i-Hind, were also in attendance.

During the meeting, the delegation also gave Amit Shah 14 memoranda.

In addition, topics including the country's madarsa's freedom and autonomy, a unified civil code, and the safeguarding of Muslim endowments were considered at the summit.
