Godse was the nation's "saput," not an invader like Aurangzeb: BJP's Giriraj Singh replies to Owaisi

In a jab at AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, BJP leader Giriraj Singh, known for his vehement and contentious speeches, called Nathuram Godse a "saput" (worthy son) of India. If Godse is Gandhi's killer, he is also the nation's son, according to Giriraj Singh, who is in charge of rural development and panchayati raj.

His comments occurred at a time when a political brawl broke out over social media posts about Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan.

"If Godse killed Gandhi, he is also the son of the country. He was an Indian native, as opposed to Aurangzeb and Babar, who were foreign invaders. Whoever is delighted to be referred to as the son of Babar cannot be the son of Bharat Mata, according to Giriraj Singh. He said this while speaking to reporters in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh.

Giriraj Singh's comments came after Hyderabad MP Owaisi responded to Devendra Fadnavis's statement about "Aurangzeb ki auladein" in Maharashtra.

Following the violent altercations between two groups over contentious social media posts about Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan, a curfew was enforced in Kolhapur on Wednesday.

"Aurangzeb's sons appeared out of nowhere in various Maharashtra regions. They display their posters while maintaining Aurangzeb's standing. There are tensions as a result. There are queries. Where are these Aurangzeb's boys from? Who is in control here? We'll find out," Fadnavis said, according to ANI.

Owaisi responded by stating, "Maharashtra's Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, 'Aurangzeb ke aulaad.'" Are you fully knowledgeable? I had no idea that you, Fadnavis, were such a professional. So you should also be aware of who Godse and Apte's children are. They are who?

In retaliation for Owaisi, Giriraj Singh called Nathuram Godse a "saput" (worthy son) of India and asserted that those who take pride in identifying as the offspring of Babar and Aurangzeb cannot be genuine sons of mother India.

In a response, Trinamool Congress member Saugata Roy referred to Giriraj Singh's statement as "communal."

"I completely disagree with everything Giriraj Singh stated,' I responded. He made a political statement by endorsing the assassin of the country's founding father. We detest the word "Babar ki Aulad," which is used by communal individuals. He referred to the Mughal monarchs as being hostile to India, the TMC MP stated.
