30-year-old woman commits herself after husband and two boys are killed in the fall in Junagadh

According to authorities, a 30-year-old woman who lost her husband and two young children in the Junagadh building collapse committed suicide.

The deteriorating two-story building in Junagadh's Kadiyavad neighborhood collapsed on her husband, an autorickshaw driver, and their two sons, aged 13 and 7, as they waited for her in their autorickshaw on Monday.

The grieving mother locked herself in her bathroom on Tuesday night and ingested acid after performing the last rites for her husband and two children. She was taken to a hospital for treatment, but SN Masida, a police officer at the Junagadh A division police station, claimed that she did not survive.

On Wednesday morning, her brother-in-law reported the suicide to the police, the source added.

Gitaben Parmar, the mayor of Junagadh, claimed that the structure was run-down and had been abandoned.

"When the building collapsed, an autorickshaw driver and his two children were underneath. The mother had gone to the store to get veggies, and they were waiting for her return. Sadly, the father, along with his two kids, perished. Additionally, the proprietor of a tea shop that was located beneath the building perished in the collision, according to Parmar.
