Kanwariyas in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, were stoned, and numerous people were hurt

 


When stones were thrown by a mob during the Kanwar Yatra in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, several individuals were hurt.

Nearly 2000 worshippers were on the Kanwar Yatra, traveling to obtain water when they were attacked close to the Shahnoori mosque in the Jogi Nawada district.

In the event, a number of police officers and about a dozen Kanwariyas sustained injuries.

Rahul Bhati, Superintendent of Police (SP) city, Bareilly, the kanwariyas were traveling to the Kachhla Ghat to obtain water when the religious procession was attacked with rocks from the Shahnoori mosque and neighboring homes.

There is a police presence in the neighborhood.

Prabhakar Chowdhry, a senior superintendent of police, stated, "Today, Kanwar Yatra was coming out from the area of Thana Baradari. As soon as this yatra came close to a sacred site, a quarrel over tossing something erupted, which resulted in stone-pelting. The video that was retrieved depicts both sides hurling rocks at one another.

According to him, the police force quickly took control of the situation, allowing the Kanwar Yatra to continue on its course. He stated that no one was seriously hurt in the incident.
