BWF World Ranking: PV Sindhu rose two places, Kidambi Srikanth dropped to 20th place

Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu rose two places to 15th in the latest BWF world rankings released on Tuesday, while Kidambi Srikanth dropped one place to 20th. Sindhu She hasn't been doing well lately, only reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, where she lost to Beiwen Zhang of the United States, who eventually became champion.

This comes despite her recent struggles on the court, including reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, where she was defeated by Beiwen Zhang of the United States. Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, previously achieved a career best ranking of world number 2 in April 2017 but slipped down the list due to poor form.

On the other hand, Kidambi Srikanth, another prominent figure in the Indian badminton scene, slipped one place down to 20th place in the BWF rankings. Srikanth, born 7 February 1993, also failed to make it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, losing to fellow Indian Priyanshu Rajawat.

HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, two other Indian athletes, maintain the 9th and 11th place respectively in the world. Meanwhile, Rajawat, after an impressive display in Sydney, rose three places to 28th in the world rankings. Mithun Manjunath and Kiran George also made significant progress, rising 7 and 6 places to hold 43rd and 49th place respectively.

In the doubles content, the male duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued to hold the No. 2 position in the world. However, the women's doubles team of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand fell two places to 19th place.

These changes in the BWF rankings reflect the dynamic nature of competitive badminton, with players constantly vying for the top spots. Despite the recent setbacks, Sindhu and Srikanth have shown resilience and determination, qualities that are sure to help them in future tournaments.
