The Department of Energy said it was reviewing the implementation of the Elevator Act, at the Uttar Pradesh Council on Friday.

The legislative action comes after a 73-year-old woman died of suspected cardiac arrest after the elevator she was in crashed catastrophically. The incident was reported by the company Paras Tierra in Noida on August 4.

Following the incident, Greater Noida Jewish Assembly MP Dhirendra Singh met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on August 8, calling for legislation on the safety of residents in elevators and its immediate implementation. instantly. In response to a question from Dhirendra Singh and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh today, the Department of Energy said: "Under the Provisions of Central Electricity Authority Regulations, in 2010, all elevator manufacturers received certification after regular inspection. Also, in Gautam Budh Nagar, escalators and elevators are certified only after proper inspection. The use of elevators in high-rise buildings is increasing daily. Laws on elevators and escalators are under review.
