Amit Malviya, the IT cell in-charge of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took to social media to offer clarification regarding the contentious remarks made by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha. Malviya stated that Bidhuri's choice of words was, in fact, a response to BSP MP Danish Ali's derogatory comments directed at the Prime Minister during the parliamentary session.
Malviya asserted that Danish Ali, a legislator from the Bahujan Samaj Party, had referred to the Prime Minister as "neech" (despicable), and it was only after this provocation that Bidhuri reacted as he did. He shared his perspective on X, formerly known as Twitter, elucidating the context surrounding the incident.
"What Shri Ramesh Bhidhuri said was in response to Danish Ali’s low jibe," remarked Amit Malviya in his social media post.
He referred to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, wherein Dubey sought a thorough investigation into the controversy.
"MP Nishikant Dubey demands an inquiry committee to look into all aspects. It is a fair demand. It also explains why Rahul Gandhi rushed to hug Danish Ali," added Amit Malviya. His comment followed Rahul Gandhi's visit to Danish Ali's residence in Delhi, which occurred after the uproar surrounding BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's objectionable comments about the BSP leader in the Lok Sabha.
Malviya shared Nishikant Dubey's letter, where the BJP MP informed Om Birla that while the party had condemned and "opposed the usage of words by an MP against another MP for religious-cultural beliefs," it was vital to acknowledge the sequence of events in the Lower House that had led to "provoking Bidhuri into losing his calm and composure."
According to Dubey's letter, "When Danish Ali was busy inciting Ramesh Bidhuri with his mild comments, he made an extremely objectionable and derogatory remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi... he (Ali) could be heard saying 'neech ko neech nahi kahenge toh kya kahenge' (If we don't call the lowly, what else will we call them?)."
Dubey asserted in his letter that this statement by Danish Ali was sufficient to cause any patriotic public representative to "lose his calm."
In his letter, Dubey urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to establish an inquiry committee to investigate the "statements made by several Members of Parliament."
Ramesh Bidhuri faced criticism after making inappropriate remarks about Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the Chandrayaan-3 mission. His comments were expunged from the parliamentary record, and the BJP issued a show cause notice to Bidhuri for employing unparliamentary language.
