Ayushmann Khurrana's film 'Dream Girl 2' embarked on a highly successful journey at the box office following its release, but it is currently experiencing a gradual deceleration in its earnings. This much-anticipated sequel, which hit theaters on August 25, is now steadily approaching the coveted 100-crore club. As of September 4, the film's cumulative box office collection has reached an impressive 88 crore rupees.
'Dream Girl 2,' directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, follows the footsteps of the 2019 hit 'Dream Girl.' The sequel commenced its cinematic journey on a highly positive note, amassing a remarkable 10.69 crore rupees in India on its opening day. However, as per early trade estimates, 'Dream Girl 2' witnessed a drop in earnings on Day 11, September 4, with a collection of approximately 2.75 crore rupees. This decline is notable when compared to the film's previous day's earnings of 8 crore rupees. Consequently, the total box office collection of 'Dream Girl 2' in India now stands at a commendable 88.91 crore rupees net. The film's performance in the wake of the release of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' on September 7 remains uncertain. In addition, on Monday, September 4, 'Dream Girl 2' achieved an overall occupancy rate of 14.05 percent.
The narrative of 'Dream Girl 2' revolves around Karam, a young man from a small town portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana, who aspires to lead a serious life in Mathura. His life takes a whimsical turn when he falls in love with Pari, portrayed by Ananya Panday. However, Karam's existence becomes increasingly chaotic as he inadvertently transforms into Pooja, resulting in further turmoil.
The film is skillfully directed by Raaj Shaandilya and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the esteemed banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
