The sequel to the 2019 hit 'Dream Girl' was directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and hit theaters on August 25, 2023, garnering a strong start with an impressive collection of Rs 10.69 crore in India. According to preliminary trade estimates, 'Dream Girl 2' continued its successful run by adding Rs 3 crore to its earnings on September 5, marking the film's total collection at Rs 91.96 crore net in India. The film's future performance is eagerly anticipated, especially with the release of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' scheduled for September 7th.
On Tuesday, September 5th, 'Dream Girl 2' maintained an overall occupancy rate of 16.46 percent, highlighting its consistent appeal among viewers.
The storyline of 'Dream Girl 2' revolves around Karam, a young man hailing from a small town in Mathura, portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana. Karam aspires to lead a conventional and serious life but finds himself besotted with Pari, portrayed by Ananya Panday. Fate, however, seems intent on subjecting him to a life full of absurdity. In a series of events, Karam adopts the persona of Pooja, leading to further chaos in his already tumultuous life.
The film was directed by Raaj Shaandilya and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
