On Wednesday, a delegation from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held a meeting with Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, during which they presented a memorandum. The memorandum expressed their concerns regarding controversial remarks made by state ministers concerning 'Sanatana Dharma' and urged the removal of these ministers.
In their memorandum, the VHP delegation emphasized their deep concern over the organization of an event in Chennai known as the 'Sanatan Abolition Conclave.' They pointed out that this conference was attended by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Sekar Babu, both of whom hold ministerial positions in the Tamil Nadu Cabinet.
The delegation earnestly requested the Governor to use his influence to address what they described as the "anti-national elements" that are allegedly propagating hatred in society. They contended that these elements continuously target 'Sanatana Dharma' with misleading information, causing great offense to its followers. Consequently, they called for the removal of the ministers who attended the conference, arguing that their participation violated their oath of office.
The VHP delegation included prominent individuals such as Dandi Swami Jeetendrananda Saraswati, General Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti, Swami Chaitanyananda Swami Maduranand of Vellimalai Ashram, Alok Kumar, VHP Central Working President, Dr P Chockalingam, President of VHP-North Tamilnadu, Su Srinivasan, and a senior advocate who serves as the Central Co-Convenor of VHP Legal Cell.
