Shahnawaz Hussain of the BJP is admitted to a hospital in Mumbai and has an angioplasty

Shahnawaz Hussain, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was urgently admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday due to complaints of high blood pressure and a sense of unease. Medical professionals conducted an angioplasty procedure, aimed at addressing narrowed or blocked blood vessels supplying blood to the heart.

A doctor from Lilavati Hospital shared, "Shahnawaz Hussain was admitted to Lilavati Hospital. We discovered a blockage in one of his veins, and angioplasty was subsequently performed." Currently, the politician is under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The latest reports indicate that Shahnawaz Hussain's condition is stable, and plans are in place to transfer him to a private ward in due course.

The health issue emerged when Shahnawaz Hussain was visiting the residence of Mumbai BJP chief and MLA Ashish Shelar in the Bandra area. It was Shelar who promptly arranged for him to be taken to the hospital.

Within the BJP, Shahnawaz Hussain is recognized as a significant figure, particularly in Bihar, where he had previously served as the Bihar Industries Minister during the tenure of the NDA government in the state.

Throughout his political career, Shahnawaz Hussain has held several influential cabinet positions within the government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. These positions have included Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Minister of State with Independent Charge for the Ministry of Coal, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Minister of Textiles.
