The AIADMK protests and complains over the saffron scarf on the MGR statue

In Tamil Nadu's Thiruporur, members of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) held a demonstration and lodged a complaint with the police following the discovery of a saffron scarf wrapped around the statue of the party's founder, MG Ramachandran (MGR).

The AIADMK cadres were taken aback by the sight of the saffron scarf adorning the statue and quickly congregated at the scene to investigate this unusual occurrence. Perplexed by how the scarf had come to be on the statue, especially considering it was enclosed within an iron cage for protection, they expressed their concern and disapproval.

In response, the party members staged a protest, demanding action against those responsible for this act and expressing their grievances against the Tamil Nadu government. The police were promptly dispatched to the location and assured the demonstrators that appropriate measures would be taken, ultimately dispersing the gathering.

To prevent any potential untoward incidents, security personnel have been deployed in the vicinity.

This development unfolded shortly after Tamil Nadu's primary opposition party, AIADMK, opted to sever its ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and exit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). In justifying this decision, the AIADMK emphasized that the BJP had been making unwarranted comments about AIADMK's former leaders.
