A police officer from Madhya Pradesh has stepped forward to extend his support to the survivor of a tragic incident in Ujjain, offering assistance in her medical treatment, education, and eventual marriage. The station in charge of Mahakal Police Station, Ajay Verma, conveyed his commitment to aiding the young girl, emphasizing his assumption of responsibility for her welfare.
Verma shared with news agency ANI, "I have taken the responsibility for helping the girl with medical treatment, education, and marriage... Many people have come forward to support me in this resolution... I believe that all responsibilities will be completed in a good manner. I have done this earlier also. I always try to give back to society."
In addition to Verma's efforts, the visuals from the incident portrayed the girl's distress as she sought help from local residents. However, it was a compassionate priest who came to her aid, providing her with sustenance, and clothing, and escorting her to the police. Concurrently, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged following the circulation of a viral video depicting the girl walking the streets.
Subsequently, on Friday, the police took swift action by arresting an auto driver and detaining three other individuals in connection with the case. During his apprehension, the auto driver, Bharat Soni, sustained injuries while attempting to evade authorities.
Addressing the accused, Ajay Verma remarked earlier, "We are prepared for everything. He (the accused) will be presented before the court...It is our effort to see that he is given protection and that the law should do its work. We want the law to take its course... We don't want anyone else to do anything to him..."
