Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant tour to Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad in Telangana, scheduled for October 1 and 3, during which he will inaugurate various projects and lay the foundation stones for others, collectively valued at an impressive sum of Rs 21,566 crore. This announcement came from Union Minister G Kishan Reddy in a press conference held on Friday.
During his visit to Mahabubnagar, Prime Minister Modi is slated to launch projects with a total value of Rs 13,545 crore, while in Nizamabad, he will either inaugurate or initiate projects worth Rs 8,021 crore. Following the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies, Modi will address public gatherings in both locations.
Union Minister Reddy also underscored the extensive investments made by the Central government in infrastructure projects over the past nine years, totaling a remarkable Rs 9 lakh crore since Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister. However, Reddy expressed concern about the delayed progress of certain projects in Telangana due to the state government's failure to provide the requisite land.
In a critique of the ruling BRS government in Telangana, the BJP leader found it ironic that a government that lacked female representation in its previous term was now advocating for the Women's Reservation Bill.
Additionally, Reddy dispelled the allegations made by BRS leaders regarding the installation of meters on agricultural pump sets, affirming that the Union Power Minister had previously clarified that there were no intentions to implement such a measure.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Secretary Santi Kumari conducted a review meeting on Friday with senior officials to prepare for PM Modi's visit to Nizamabad on October 3. On this occasion, Modi will virtually inaugurate an 800-megawatt power project constructed by NTPC, as announced in an official release.
