Joshua David, the official spokesperson representing the Jehovah's Witnesses, conveyed his profound astonishment regarding the tragic Kalamassery explosion incident. In response to a video shared by Dominic Martin, an individual who purportedly took responsibility for the incident, Joshua explicitly stated that the views expressed therein were solely Martin's personal opinions.
On Monday, a Jehovah's Witnesses spokesperson, namely Joshua David, responded to the video posted by Dominic Martin, the individual who claimed responsibility for a series of explosions that rattled the region of Ernakulam in Kerala. Joshua David, during his statement, emphasized that the comments made by Dominic Martin were reflective of his own personal beliefs and should not be attributed to the Jehovah's Witnesses organization.
Furthermore, Joshua David, representing the Jehovah's Witnesses, also shared the organization's collective shock in response to the distressing events that unfolded in Kalamassery. He shed light on the ongoing efforts to address the evolving situation and expressed their full cooperation with the relevant authorities in the matter.
The tragic incident in question transpired at the international convention center located in Kalamassery, Ernakulam, where three separate blasts occurred, resulting in the unfortunate loss of three lives and leaving more than 50 individuals with various degrees of injuries. The attendees at the convention were members of the minority Christian community, the Jehovah's Witnesses, who had convened for the final day of a three-day-long prayer gathering.
It is Dominic Martin who asserted responsibility for the series of blasts on a fateful Sunday and subsequently surrendered himself to the authorities in Thrissur. Prior to his surrender, he chose to disseminate a video via Facebook, wherein he expounded upon the motives behind his decision to target the Jehovah's Witnesses religious sect.
Within the video, Martin explained that his actions were rooted in a fundamental disagreement with the teachings propagated by the Jehovah's Witnesses and his desire to curtail their activities. He vehemently posited that their ideologies were perceived as detrimental to the nation and particularly harmful to the impressionable minds of the youth.
Martin revealed that his disillusionment with the organization dated back six years when he came to the realization that the Jehovah's Witnesses were, in his view, veering down an erroneous path, promoting beliefs that he considered contrary to the national interest. He alleged that he had implored them to rectify their course on multiple occasions, but his appeals went unanswered by the organization. Intriguingly, Martin also disclosed a prior association with the Jehovah's Witnesses, indicating a complex personal history with the religious group.
