Kerala guy detained under anti-terror laws after surrendering following three explosions

Dominic Martin, the individual who claimed responsibility for the series of serial explosions that occurred at a convention center in Ernakulam district, Kerala, has been taken into custody. This arrest transpired on Monday and is supported by legal actions under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Explosives Act, and charges related to murder. Notably, this development follows Martin's assertion of responsibility for the explosive incidents, which he communicated to the authorities in Thrissur district a day earlier.

Prior to his voluntary surrender, Martin chose to make a video statement on Facebook, elucidating the rationale behind the orchestration of the serial blasts targeted at the Christian sect.

Within the video, he acknowledged his past affiliation with Jehovah's Witnesses, a minority Christian group, but conveyed his growing dissent from their doctrinal teachings. Martin explicitly claimed full responsibility for the explosions, stating, "I take complete responsibility for that. It was me who conducted the blast there."

To further expound on his motivation, Martin articulated, "Six years ago, I realized that this organization was on the wrong path, and their teachings were anti-national. I asked them to correct it several times. However, they were never ready to do that."

The disturbing events unfolded at a convention center in Kalamassery, Kerala, where three separate serial explosions occurred on Sunday, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives and leaving more than 50 individuals with various degrees of injuries.

Initially, the incident claimed the life of one woman. Tragically, the situation worsened as one of the six critically injured individuals, a 53-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries. On Monday morning, the grim toll continued to mount with the passing of a 12-year-old girl who had sustained severe burns covering 95 percent of her body in the incident.
