Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan expressed his disbelief regarding the involvement of a Christian in placing a bomb at a Christian prayer meeting during the recent Kerala blasts in Ernakulam on Sunday. A man named Dominic Martin claimed responsibility for these blasts and surrendered to the police in Thrissur district.
Radhakrishnan urged the Kerala government to take immediate action to identify the true culprit behind these incidents or involve the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to conduct a comprehensive investigation to prevent potential future disasters. He emphasized the need to uncover the facts to ensure justice and security.
Furthermore, Radhakrishnan, who had a previous role as a BJP MP, criticized the governments of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu for what he perceived as their support of extremist elements. He claimed that these governments, whether it's the Communist government in Kerala or the DMK government led by Stalin in Tamil Nadu, are allegedly safeguarding individuals involved in criminal activities, including those responsible for bombings.
He pointed out that both states have faced the challenges of Islamic terrorism, and yet, he observed a tendency within their respective governments to conflate support for extremists with support for the broader Muslim community. This, he asserted, hinders the effective resolution of security issues and prevents the governments from taking decisive action against those responsible.
On Sunday, a series of explosions occurred at a convention center in Kalamassery, where a significant gathering of Jehovah's Witnesses, a minority Christian group, had congregated for a three-day prayer meeting. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives, and over 50 others sustained injuries as a result of these explosions. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of religious gatherings in the region.
