The tragic demise of a 20-year-old in Delhi allegedly stems from a love triangle that took root on Instagram, as per police reports. The victim, Mahir, was purportedly stabbed by 18-year-old Arman Khan and his cohorts on December 27, entangled in a rivalry over a woman they both befriended via the social media platform.
The saga unfurled through a series of events. An unnamed 21-year-old woman, a mutual connection on Instagram, had formed friendships with both Mahir and Arman. The conflict escalated when Mahir visited the woman's residence and stumbled upon her engaged in a video call with Arman. This encounter resulted in a heated altercation between the two men, culminating in Arman confiscating the woman's phone, restricting her communication with Mahir.
On the fateful day, Arman lured Mahir to Bhagirathi Vihar under the pretext of returning the woman's phone. However, upon Mahir's arrival, Arman, accompanied by two associates, Faisal Khan and Sameer, carried out a brutal stabbing attack on him, leaving him grievously wounded. Callously, the perpetrators abandoned Mahir at the scene, allowing him to succumb to his injuries.
The authorities were alerted when a passerby reported a man lying injured on a Bhagirathi Vihar lane, prompting police intervention. At the location, law enforcement recovered a bloodied knife, indicative of the heinous act.
Mahir's body underwent autopsy at GTB Hospital after the distressing incident. His occupation was revealed as employment at a flex shop in Paharganj.
The Delhi Police, along with the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS), swiftly apprehended the three accused individuals—Arman, Faisal Khan (21), and Sameer (19). These men were employed at diverse establishments within Bhagirathi Vihar, with Arman managing a general store, Faisal specializing in LCD TV repair, and Sameer operating as a scrap dealer.
An FIR was lodged at the Gukulpuri Police Station, charging the trio with murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the perilous consequences entangled within complex interpersonal relationships.
