Amit Shah made fun of Gandhis in Parliament by saying, "If your heart is Italian

Addressing the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a dig at the Gandhis, making a pointed remark about their understanding. In a veiled swipe at the Gandhi family, Shah remarked, "Some individuals used to advocate for mutual understanding. I would suggest that if one maintains an open heart, steeped in Indian sentiments, comprehension will follow. However, if one's mindset is aligned with Italy, true understanding may remain elusive."

Amit Shah delivered these remarks while participating in parliamentary discussions on the three new criminal law bills in the Lok Sabha. Emphasizing the historic nature of the legislative changes under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Shah expressed pride in the fact that, for the first time, laws are being crafted per the essence of the Indian Constitution. He underscored the significance of these modifications, highlighting that they mark a departure from legal frameworks that have persisted for 150 years.

According to Shah, the proposed trio of criminal law bills is poised to usher in comprehensive transformations within the country's criminal justice system. Initially introduced during the Monsoon Session, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Bill, 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023 underwent amendments before being presented by Amit Shah during the subsequent Winter Session.
