BJP's Diya Kumari on her relationship with Vasundhara Raje: Got her blessings too

Diya Kumari assumed the role of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister as designated by the BJP on Tuesday, a position she shares with Premchand Bairwa. Interestingly, she was among the contenders for the Chief Ministerial post in the state.

In discussions about her association with former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Diya Kumari addressed speculation about a supposed discord between them that may have influenced her not securing the CM position. Dismissing such rumors, she remarked, "I refrain from commenting on such matters. We have all collaborated in our efforts, and she has been a part of that journey; I have received her blessings as well."

Taking a moment to express her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Diya Kumari commended his commitment to women's welfare. She highlighted the formulation of policies with a specific focus on women and expressed gratitude to PM Modi, along with other key figures within the party such as the national president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, state president CP Joshi, and various in-charges, for deeming her fit for the responsibility and entrusting her with this role. She conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity and stated her eagerness to collaborate in the forthcoming endeavors.

Diya Kumari, along with Premchand Bairwa, has been designated as one of the two Deputy Chief Ministers to support Chief Minister-designate Bhajan Lal Sharma in Rajasthan. Additionally, MLA Vasudev Devnani has been nominated for the position of Speaker.

Reiterating that Diya Kumari was a contender for the Chief Minister position, it is noteworthy that she emerged victorious in the Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency, securing a substantial margin of 71,368 votes in the recently concluded Rajasthan Assembly polls.
