Israel issues a safety warning to its citizens in India following a blast close to its Delhi embassy

In response to the explosion near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Israeli National Security Council (NSC) has issued an advisory for its citizens in India. The blast occurred in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, and although no injuries were reported, the NSC has labeled it a potential 'terror attack.'

Israeli embassy spokesperson Guy Nir confirmed the incident and stated that investigations were ongoing. Deputy Chief of Mission Ohad Nakash Kaynar assured the safety of embassy personnel, emphasizing collaboration with local security forces.

Considering the risk of recurrence, the NSC provided recommendations for Israelis in India, urging avoidance of crowded places, increased vigilance in public areas, refraining from displaying Israeli symbols, avoiding large gatherings, and delaying the sharing of trip details on social media.

The blast triggered a comprehensive response, involving Delhi Police, the bomb disposal squad, the fire department, and a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team. While initial reports indicated no explosives were found, an extended search and investigation ensued. CCTV footage revealed two suspects near the blast site, prompting efforts to track and apprehend them.

A typed letter found at the site addressed to the Israeli Ambassador and expressing grievances related to Israel's actions in Gaza, hinted at a motive of 'revenge.' The self-identified group "Sir Allah Resistance" claimed responsibility.

To further investigate the incident, an elite National Security Guard (NSG) team arrived at the scene. Simultaneously, security agencies in Mumbai convened meetings to discuss security measures for the Israeli consulate and other vital installations.
