Lalit Jha requested a friend in Bengal to "circulate" the footage he had shared of the Parliament breach

In a communication, Lalit Jha, the alleged orchestrator of the Parliament security breach, shared a video of the incident with his acquaintance in West Bengal, Sourav Chakraborty. Jha, in a message, requested Chakraborty to disseminate the video on social media, concluding with the phrase 'Jai Hind.'

During an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Chakraborty revealed that he had known Jha since May 14, having connected through Facebook. However, he asserted that he had no prior knowledge of Jha's plan.

"We connected on Facebook, where he engaged with and supported my social media posts. Although I've known him since May 14, he never disclosed anything related to the Parliament security breach incident," Chakraborty stated.

Nevertheless, Chakraborty mentioned that he would have endorsed such an incident if it occurred "before 1947," deeming it "unnecessary" in the current context.

"Jha discussed social justice and welfare, never hinting at such a plan," Chakraborty added.

He further shared that he met Jha at two rallies in Kolkata, describing Jha as a "helpful person" who arranged his stay in Uttar Pradesh for a rally.

Regarding the Parliament security breach on December 13, when two individuals disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha, Chakraborty clarified his lack of involvement in the incident. The breach occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, carried out by terrorists from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed outfits.

Four individuals, including Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D inside the Lok Sabha chamber, and Neelam Devi and Amol Shinde outside, face charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for the security breach. Lalit Jha, identified as the alleged mastermind, surrendered and was subsequently placed in seven-day police custody after his arrest on Thursday.
