On Sunday, the Punjab Police apprehended three individuals suspected of being affiliated with the Bambiha gang from Moga after a confrontation with law enforcement officers. The arrests transpired when the trio, riding a motorcycle, was intercepted by the police at a checkpoint on the Badhni-Malyana road near Daudar village. Subsequently, an exchange of gunfire ensued as the suspects attempted to evade capture.
The three individuals, identified as Shankar Rajput and Jashav from Moga, and Navdeep from Dharamkot, reportedly abandoned their motorcycle and sought refuge in a nearby farm. There, they fired shots at the police team, prompting a retaliatory response. Eventually, after a period of resistance, the suspects surrendered to the police.
Law enforcement officials disclosed that Shankar Rajput, Jashav, and Navdeep were associates of known gangsters Lucky Patial and Mandeep Dhaliwal, both affiliated with the Bambiha gang. The arrests mark another development in the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and dismantle gang networks in the region.
