In a recent commentary, Union Minister and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) figure Giriraj Singh took a dig at Nitish Kumar and made a projection about his tenure as the Chief Minister of Bihar, stating that Kumar might no longer hold this position. According to Singh, Kumar is faced with only two potential choices.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Giriraj Singh remarked, "Nitish Kumar will no longer continue as the Chief Minister of Bihar as he only has two options left: 1. He merges his party into the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). 2. He promotes Tejashwi Yadav as the next CM of Bihar."
Singh's comments come in the wake of his earlier assertion that Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and its ally RJD, led by Lalu Prasad, were on the path to merging. He hinted at a close relationship with Lalu Prasad and suggested that a merger between JD(U) and RJD was imminent.
Reiterating the BJP's standpoint of not considering Nitish Kumar for potential alliances in the future, Singh responded to internal discord within the ruling Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, emphasizing, "Nitish showed the door to the likes of George Fernandes and Sharad Yadav when he deemed it fit. Lalan too has to go."
Giriraj Singh also criticized the Congress for its alleged reluctance to participate in the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. He highlighted the BJP's longstanding commitment to the construction of the Ram Mandir, contrasting it with the previous Congress-led era.
Commenting on the recent controversy surrounding invitations to the Ram Mandir inauguration, Giriraj Singh downplayed the significance of attendees, stating, "Invitations are being sent out to one and all, but it barely matters who attends the occasion. The inauguration will continue as scheduled."
In a pointed critique of Rahul Gandhi and the recently announced 'Nyay Yatra,' Giriraj Singh suggested that the former Congress President should consider organizing a 'Gyan Yatra' (journey to wisdom). Singh asserted that Rahul Gandhi had lost credibility after making somber reflections about India while traveling abroad, pointing to voter sentiments expressed in the recent state assembly elections following Rahul's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra.'
