Once the burglar sees the owner's Facebook post in Surat, the stolen bike is returned

After the theft of his bike in Surat, Gujarat, Paresh Bhai Patel, a wooden handicraft dealer, experienced a change of heart when the thief voluntarily returned the stolen vehicle after coming across Patel's Facebook post. On December 9, Patel discovered that his bike had been taken from its parking spot in a building in Mota Varachha, prompting him to lodge a complaint with the police.

The following day, Patel took a unique approach by uploading the CCTV footage of the incident on Facebook, where he surprisingly referred to the thief as a "gentleman." In the post, he urged the thief to collect the bike's key and RC book from the parking lot, assuring him not to worry about any consequences, as Patel expressed his ability to manage by cycling. Despite filing a police complaint, Patel's unconventional appeal on social media managed to reach the thief.

Subsequently, the thief, influenced by Patel's Facebook post, returned the bike to the same parking spot on December 11 and left the scene, as captured by a CCTV camera installed in the parking area. Following this unexpected turn of events, Patel, in an interview with Aaj Tak/India Today TV, revealed that he decided to withdraw the police complaint after witnessing what he perceived as the "honesty of the thief."

Expressing his satisfaction, Patel conveyed his contentment with the thief's decision to return the bike after being influenced by the social media post. This incident serves as a unique example of a thief's change of heart prompted by an unconventional appeal on a social media platform, leading to a withdrawal of the police complaint by the victim.
