Russian drones in Kiev, Ukraine, strike a residential building, injuring two people

In the early hours of Friday, Kyiv, Ukraine, experienced a series of mass drone attacks targeting various residential districts, according to reports from Mayor Vitali Klitschko and other officials. This marked the sixth occurrence of drone attacks on the capital within the current month, resulting in at least two reported injuries.

Mayor Klitschko disclosed that one of the drones struck a residential block in the Solomyanskyi district, situated south of the city center, causing a fire and injuring two individuals, with one receiving medical treatment at a hospital. He emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that emergency crews were actively responding to the incident.

A video circulating on social media depicted a sizable orange flame ascending into the night sky, illustrating the impact of the drone strike on the Solomyanskyi district.

In addition to this, Mayor Klitschko detailed another incident where drone fragments ignited a fire at a construction site in the Darnytskyi district on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but images shared online revealed scattered construction materials at the affected location.

Further reports from Serhiy Popko, the head of Kyiv's military administration, indicated that remnants from a downed drone damaged an apartment building in a third area, the Holosiivskyi district, located to the south of the city center. Disturbing images posted by Popko showed shattered windows and significant structural damage to the apartments.
